Today we mourn the loss of our beloved Private Kale Daren Clay. Kale was taken from this mortal world February 13th 2010 while traveling as a passenger with some of his fellow soldiers and undoubtedly close friends in a tragic car accident. He was weeks shy of celebrating his 24th birthday. He had survived his first deployment to Iraq and was preparing for his next deployment to Afghanistan. He was on active duty with U.S. Army as a Specialist in the 2nd BCT 4th ID A BTRY 3-16 Field Army Regimen.
Kale was a loved son, a caring brother, an adored grandson, a playful cousin, a favorite nephew, a trusted friend, an honored Servicemen, he was a companion, a teacher, a learner, an inspirer, a confidant, a story-teller, a laugher, a lover, a hero and so much more. Kale Clay had a heart that surpassed his own physical stature. He would give you all he had and so much more. He loved to be around his friends and family and lit up the room with his insatiable laughter. He could see the humor in the darkest moments. He loved his family, his friends, his God and his country and gave all he had. His life was full of love, laughter and friendship and his legacy will live on in the hearts of all those he came in contact with. He was loved by many and his absence will be missed by all.
